STORY: THE FOUR DRAGONS ( BS 5 UNIT 6)

Once upon a time, there were no rivers and lakes in China. There was only the Eastern Sea. Four dragons lived in the sea.
‘I'm the black dragon.’
‘I'm the yellow dragon.’
‘I'm the long dragon.’
‘I'm the pearl dragon.’

One day they visited the centre of China.
‘Come over here quickly!’
‘What's wrong?’
‘The people are sad.’

The people prayed.
‘Our children are hungry.

‘God, please send rain quickly.’
We need rain to grow rice.’

It was very sunny and there was no rain. The rice plants died. The dragons decided to ask the Emperor for rain.
‘The people need our help.’
‘Let's go and see the Emperor.’

The dragons asked the Emperor for rain.
‘Please send rain quickly, Your Majesty.’

But the Emperor was not interested, he was more interested in the songs of the fairies.
‘Yes, yes, OK. Tomorrow.’
‘Thank you, Your Majesty!’

Ten days passed and there was still no rain. The people were very hungry and the dragons were very unhappy.
‘Our rice fields are dry.’
‘We have no rice.’
‘The Emperor isn't worried about the people. He's listening to the songs of the fairies.’

‘I've got an idea. There's lots of water in the sea. Let's take some to the people.’
‘Great idea! Come on. Let's help the people!’

The dragons transported water from the sea to the people.
‘It's raining! It's raining!’
‘We can grow rice again!’

But the Emperor was very angry.
‘How dare the four dragons bring rain. Mountain God, go and get four mountains and trap the dragons so that they can't escape! They can stay there forever!’

The Mountain God was magic and he trapped the four dragons with four mountains.
‘We're trapped!’
‘But we can still help the people.’

Each dragon was now a big river. And this is why China has got four great rivers.
‘I'm the river in the centre of China.’
‘I'm the river in the north of China.’
‘I'm the river in the south of China.’
‘I'm the river in the far south of China.’

Wanda the Witch is at home.

Wanda: Oh, where’s my cat … and my glasses?
The rat: Aha! The witch can’t see.

The rat takes the cat’s place.

The rat: Miaow, miaow.
Wanda: Oh, it’s my cat! Come on, Kitty.

The rat is thirsty.

The rat: Can I have some milk?
Wanda: Yes, of course, Kitty. There’s some milk in the jug. Here you are.

The rat is hungry.

The rat: Can I have some fish?
Wanda: Yes, of course, Kitty. There’s some fish on the plate. Here you are.

The rat is still hungry.
Can I have some chicken?
Wanda: Yes, of course, Kitty. There’s some chicken in the fridge. Wait a minute.

Wanda opens the fridge and finds her glasses.

Wanda: Oh good! My glasses.

Now Wanda can see.

The rat: Where’s my chicken?
Wanda: Ah! You’re a rat, not a cat! Get out!

Wanda: Now, where’s my cat? Kitty, Kitty!

It’s important to have a healthy, balanced diet.
Carbohydrates give us energy. Bread and pasta are all carbohydrates.

We’re making bread! Bread is good for you.

We need seeds, yeast, warm water, and flour!

We mix the water with the flour and yeast, ... a
nd make dough.

We leave the dough to rise.

We add the seeds.

Then we put the bread in the oven.

The bread’s ready!

It tastes great and gives us energy!

A SNOW TRIP By CHARLIE ALONSO

Last weekend, I went to the snow in Javalambre (Teruel) with my friends and my family. It was a sunny day with a lot of snow near us. We went up the mountains in a chairlift. In Javalambre there are different ski slopes, and they are classified in 5 groups:
GREEN - They are very easy.
BLUE – They are a little difficult.
RED – They are difficult.
BLACK – They are very, very difficult.
PURPLE – They are the most difficult. These slopes are for professionals.

I love skiing because it’s a very good sport. It’s very fun and cool too. Up in a mountain I was very frightened, like Tilly Smith, because the mountain I went up was 2000 metres high. It was a very careful adventure!!

I was wearing a grey helmet, red sunglasses, a red jacket, black gloves and black trousers. There were lots of people in the mountains.

After skiing, my friends and I made a snowball fight. It was very interesting to know who was the winner.
Later we were playing in the snow with the sleighs. It was a good time and we laughed a lot.

Five minutes later... this was the result.

My friend and I were the winners because… LOOK AT OUR BALL!!!!!!!

BYE BYE MARY.
